The cable ties tightening operation is a highly repeated operation on a production or assembly line, often intense because of high yields with little rest time, and carried out using hand tools, which frequently leads to Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSD), such as carpal tunnel syndrome.
This ergonomic problem can be accompanied by quality issues around the tightening or cutting of the cable tie, such as pressure variations due to the extra force applied by operators, or zip ties that are not cut flush, which can scratch operators or damage the cables around them.
